Harper and Cotchery already gone?

I am not going to hate on Cotch too much for the role he played in our Superbowl failure.  We were terrible from Cam straight down to whoever was blocking, running or trying to catch the ball.  Cotch made a huge drop but other's fumbled, threw interceptions and missed key blocks.  He came up big for us through the season and only wish him the best for the rest of his life.  His last day of a football player ended at the Superbowl though.

You have to look at this in terms of next hurdle. Besides the SB, you now have to see the team needs to be able to beat a D like Denver.

Which means a even better o line and wrs that can cause separation.

Personally i think a healthy Pittsburgh is the team to beat next year on the AFC side.

He's white and from Charlotte like a lot of people on the Huddle, so they want him to succeed. I get it, but he sucks and we can do better.

LOL.  Won't deny there's probably some truth to this....!

On a related note, I finally have a theory for why we drafted David Mayo this past year.  (Not that he's a bad player.  Mad tackling skills and all, just wasn't sure he was truly BPA in that round....)

In looking at the history of Gettleman's draft picks, it struck me yesterday that he ALWAYS has picked one white guy.  I'm normally not one to focus much on race, but....

2013:  AJ

2014: Gaffney, who we lost to waivers when the Pats stole him as we tried to stash him on IR

2015: Mayo

Am I crazy to think this is even a consideration?!?!

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
