If the team still wants that one 'old dude' in the receiving corps, I could see it.

He certainly fits the general team chemistry.

I just like the idea of adding a big target with physicality who is sure-handed to our group. KB is our only physical WR. Funch is big but doesn't play like it. They're trying to teach him to but some of it is just the way nature planned it. Boldin uses his size well and Cam needs a guy who he can catapult a ball to and not be worried about him not clamping onto it.

All of the receivers we have right now have struggled with drops. People forget KB dropped over 10 balls last year. Funch was better towards the end of the year but dropped a lot. Philly was great this year but did drop one in the SB and we all remember the preseason. Ginn... Boldin would be more of a sure thing than Cotch was, in my opinion. Not quite as sure-handed as his former teammate Fitzgerald, but as close as it gets.

Another off season, another time where this forum wants us to sign old vet wr's..... every year,  never fails

Granted that's a pattern, but I do think there's at least something of a case to be made for this one.

Guys like Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks we're mainly living off of past glory when people were pushing for them to be Panthers.  Boldin can rightly be said to have had some production in a recent season.

And yes, I do think the Panthers kind of like having someone in that "teacher on the field" role.

I'm iffy given the age, but it's true we do have a thing for Walter Payton award winners.

We've already had the last two on roster.  Maybe we'll go for a third.

Thats the first thought i had. Consider this a done deal.

We needed him the last couple of years.

Also LOL @ the current squad bullshit. Can't have half your WR corp with drop issues....even Benji was dropping the easy poo and making the hard catches.

poo we need all the sure handed WRs we can get...too many sentimental people here...Brown type WRs can be found anywhere....except even better versions.

I wana stick with our current group.   Sure,  if we had a hole at the WR position id be for it,  but im all about the KB Funch Ginn Brown combo

KB is a beast #1 who was primed to explode before his injury

If Funch can continue to improve i think he can be a damn good #2 and eventual co-#1

Ginn has elite speed that did absolute wonders for our team.  Hes a gamebreaker when he actually catches it.

Philly seems to me like hes the perfect #4 reciever. Quick,  speedy,  good route runner..  Seems to be clutch on important downs..   He was put in an unnatural position this year but in the future i think that he can be that guy that gets open cause defenses will forget to account for him or simply wo t be able to account for him because of our other threats..

If we bring in bolden i just think it turns into another situation where a old vet gets favored over the young guy and takes playing time away

We had the #1 offense with rookie 21 y/o Funch Cotch Ginn and Brown

Replace cotch with KB and we shoukd be just as deadly as an offense, pl us Funch improvement. Save the cap on defense..   I pray we just load up and quality DBs and DEs..   Please..

sign him fug what people are saying about age, did not effect his performance,qb play did, plus boldin is true veteran leadership, which imo is leading by example unlike cotchery. One of the more physically wr's in the league and his toughness is up there with TD. Signing him would solve majority of the wr issues besides the "can KB come back healthy'. Also has experience working with a mobile qb, Signing him makes too much sense hopefully he's on our list

Why do people think that getting KB back immediately solves all our WR issues? KB will enter basically his sophomore season and could very well be a little rusty at game speed. God forbid if anything else happened, then we are right back where we started. I really hope Gettleman doesn't look at our WR position like some posters do on here. There's a difference between Brown being your #5 and Bersin being your #5.

Boldin is getting up there in age, but he had a decent season with trash QB's. He's also the physical type receiver that can help in the blocking game. Probably worth kicking the tires.
