Chris Long, DE, 30 

Mario Williams, DE, 31

Jason Pierre Paul, DE, 27

Robert Ayers Jr., DE, 30

Kevin Dodd, DE, 23

 

I feel like one way or another, we end up with one of these dudes, which one would you all prefer? I feel like Ayers is the most sensible as he matches the scheme and has just as much value as any of the others, though Chris Long would seem to fill that Jared Allen spot. 

 

What say you?

A lot depends on what happens with CJ...  but, my guess is that we'll double dip.  Sign a free agent AND target a DE in the draft.  I mean we're all thinking CJ is getting past his prime (at least in terms of speedy pass rushing) as he hits 30, not sure we want to sign a mega deal with ANOTHER 30 year old DE..., but certainly if CJ leaves, we need a vet who is a proven starter in addition to whomever we might draft.

We need another vet, pure and simple, regardless of what happens with CJ.  BPA in the draft, if it's DE, fine, if not, fine.

My order of vets, based on what I think they will cost AND how I think they will produce/fit in.  Bang for buck if you will.  With an added sprinkle of how much it will hinder/piss off the competition.

Hardy>Hayes>Williams>Ayers>Vernon>Long>JPP.  

Sorry I don't want someone trying to play at the highest level full time without a functioning hand due to their own stupidity.
