Do we know the deal yet without me having dig to search for it? Β Other teams would be pumped for the right deal. Β I'm just wondering if we got one. Β

1 year, 3M. Reportedly turned down 6M from Bucs.Β

Love this move, we dodged a 11 million cap hit by releasing Johnson. Then he comes back at only 3 million. Hell of a move by Gettleman.

This is correct right? Ive never been good at contract stuff

We were gunna pay him 15 million if we had done nothing. We cut him.. Β We owe 4 million in dead money aka we save 11m in cap space. CJ decides to come back at 3m. Β  Β So in total, Β we will pay him 7m this season as opposed to 15m

His cap hit wasΒ $15 million, we cut him and his $11 million salary vanished, but his $4 million pro-rated bonuses stayed on our cap, the "dead money". We will be paying him only $3 million, but that $4 million "dead money" doesn't vanish now that he's back, so he counts as $7 million on our cap, despite only making $3 million this year. In essence, you're right
