Weddle To Make Decision This Weekend

He is staying on the west coast. Would be a monster for Pitt but doubt he wants to give up the vitamin D and ocean to go to a ugly snowy city with crazy looking fans.

He don't give a poo about Carolina. We have too clean of a look for some outsider dawgs. Even though our defense and offensive line has savages.

Why was he undrafted? Kid barely played in the SB

You never know.  He actually played a fair amount of snaps towards the end of the season.

Dion Bailey is a fair comparison.  Was projected high originally and went UDFA.  Scooped by Seattle, had to start in place of Kam, then when Kam came back was waived and played formidably for the Jets.  That being said, we still need an SS.

@carolina-chuck2 give me some points as to why not Dean M. Here are 3 points as to why Dean deserves a shot.

  • ; Big hitter with Super Bowl experience

I think Marlowe was inactive for the Super Bowl?  But still, even being there as a rookie and understanding the media circus and experiencing the atmosphere and being in the practices and on the sidelines counts for something.

Why was Arian Foster undrafted? Why was Chris Harris Jr. undrafted? Why was Victor Cruz undrafted? Why was Tony Romo undrafted?

Just because the kid wasn't drafted doesn't mean he's not a player.

Prob split a game a piece. Be an 8-8 team?

or come here, still get to play SD and be a SB contender.

Good point. I guess it comes down to do he care more about money or wins. I expect SD to bounce back this year though since they got Whisenhunt back.

Panthers were Special this year and I kinda think they going to be Special next year too!
Think DG was hoping finally getting SB would be enough motivation to get his name on dotted line.
He dang sure not getting there in Miami.  We gonna be Special with him or without him but with him maybe we not looking defense but offense and Derrick Henry would truly give us another weapon      .  http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2015/12/13/heisman-trophy-winner-henry-highlights-ap-all-america-team/77
Sure would love to have them both!!!

  • Gman feared cutting him and kept him on the 53 man all year.  He is young and picked the system up very quickly. He graded out in the mid 80's against the Pats
  • He has exceptional size and speed; Big hitter with Super Bowl experience
  • He intercepted everything thrown his way in training camp and in the pre-season.

So, If we give the snaps to Weddle, in two to three years we are looking again for a replacement and $$ would be tighter. If we give the snaps to Dean the sky is the limit. I think he deserves just a shot.

Just an extra bit for ya, Chris Harris said DM will be the best Safety in the league before he's done.

    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
    • Except it wouldn't be Rodgers leading them on a postseason run, it would be the defense and he's there to not screw up their great games. Which is why..... This times a million. I didn't watch a ton of the Jets last year, but from what I did see, Rodgers himself didn't look like a bum, the team just struggled and was more than likely due to poor coaching on the whole.  The Steelers don't need MVP level Rodgers to win games, they just need him to be good enough to make some plays when it matters because the defense is keeping them in games every week regardless. In their 7 losses last season, the Steelers scored 10, 13, 17, 17, 17, 19, and 24... while giving up 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 29, and 34 in those games.  With only marginally better offense last year, they probably end up winning a few more games too. They only scored over 27 points in 3 games last season. I think this is a great move by the Steelers and if Rodgers can stay healthy all year, will get them back into the playoffs and could make some noise if their defense is up to the normal level of a Steelers defense.
