Who will already be gone at 30?--Here's a worst case scenario/projection type exercise...

The case with the 4-3 DEs is interesting and could rely on how far Bosa falls.  If it takes until pick 9+ for him to go, then Dodd or Lawson could very well fall to us.  When thinking of the amount of 4-3 defenses and R1 offensive fits; a lot could actually ride on who/when takes Bosa creating a domino effect.

Overall--Usually there's 1-3 guys I just really want and this year it's Shepard, Killebrew, & Judon...and I don't know if we'll be in position for some without a trade.  Therefore, I'm trying to stay as open as possible haha.

Im a big fan of those three, Tapper, and Hargrave.  I'd sign up right now for a draft of Shepard / Hargrave / Killebrew / Judon or Tapper.  Throw a CB in there for good measure in the fifth (Miller?).

Some might say that could be reaching according to media mock drafts, but I think that's a boatload of talent.  And would tick off a few needs as well.

I mean,  if Gettleman picks D Henry there is going to be a lot of folks having to swallow their pride and realize they don't know jack.

Disregarding the spot we may take him and all other things aside, the kid does in fact fit here.  The divisive prospects always seem to end up being the pick.  Happened with both KB and Shaq.

I hope you went to Petco and bought some extra hamsters in preparation for a potential D Henry pick.

Personally, I'm all for it. Gettleman may not know as much about scouting and drafting as @nickzz but he's slowly building a reputation as a GM who may know something about building a complete SB roster.

Derrick Henry would be a great pick and his highlights are great with or without large holes opened up by his offensive line.

If I had to guess...Goff, Wentz, Elliott, Tunsil, Stanley, Conklin, Decker, Treadwell, Coleman, Doctson, Bosa, Buckner, Lawson, Dodd, Reed, Robinson, Rankins, Billings, Jack, Ragland, Lee, Floyd, Ramsey, Hargreaves, Alexander, Jackson, and Apple will be gone ahead of us, plus maybe another team takes a QB in Lynch.

So that's 27-28 names, and still a lot of talent on the board: Henry x2, Thomas, Fuller, Shepard, Spriggs, Ifedi, Kelly, Ogbah, Spence, Butler, Jones, Nkemdiche, Burns, Joseph, Cravens, Bell, etc. Plus Jaylon Smith is a total wildcard. Top 3 talent, could free fall though depending on the medical re-check.

Yeah the med reports on Jaylon will be huge although it's been reported in the past few weeks he's leg pressing among other things to prove his legs are a-ok.  Given the success of LBs lately like Luke, TD, Wagner, Mack, Miller, etc., teams will be targeting these athletic ones early in my opinion.

Agreed, I can't lie, I'd be intrigued at the potential of taking a top talent like that if he falls to 30, even if he doesn't play until 2017. I know, another linebacker, but Shaq-Luke-Smith would be a hell of a unit for the future.

I just realized I kinda just went on a tangent with my earlier post instead of answering the question. Of the names listed, Taylor Decker really stands out. IMO a top 10 defensive talent. Rankins and Billings could also be considered BPA.

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
