49ers visiting Amini

We should be rooting for him to sign somewhere, for comp pick purposes, right?  I know there's some thought that depending on the draft we could re-sign him as depth.  I'd be cool with that too, though his injury history is troubling.

We want him to sign and to get a big payday.  Would need at least 960k to count as a 7th round comp pick.

Another one of those dynamite Hurney 2nd round selections

amini is ok depth. Still think he was recovering from his acl in 2014. He never got bulldozed like that it was more the mental side of things. When he has a solid LT and center beside him he does a decent job. As shown by his spot starter duty in 2015 and his play in 2012 and 2013.

Love to have him back. Man learning how to play the game. Just can't stay healthy.

He looked like the future at LG before he tore his ACL in 2013.  And he looked decent this season when Norwell went down for a few games.  If he came back I wouldn't complain, but yea some guys just can't shake the injury bug.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
