ESPN vs. NFL Network

Both going through the red carpet shenanigans.  So far I've leaned toward NFL network, not sure who to turn up louder when the action starts.

Can't say I like ESPN but NFL network gets so shrill and superficial I might have to drop them later.

Any preferences?

I watch one until they go to commercial, then I switch to the other until they go to commercial. If they are both in commercial, I watch Big Bang. Oh, and of course I am pretty much glued to teh Huddle. Well, at least I will be if I get my chores done in time.

ESPN is without a doubt the sorriest collection of journalists I have ever seen. With a handful of exceptions they regularly fail to do quality research and the writing is just fuggin awful. Look no further than that sorry assed mock draft the other night as proof, or watch Kevin Negandhi, who has a terminal case of dumbassery, if you can stand his smarminess for more than 5 minutes.

NFL network may have some weak links but overall is so much better in terms of writing and basis for opinions.

ESPN is a much better option during the latter rounds. They actually cover each pick and Trey Wingo's team isn't so bad. NFLN will spend all of day 3 talking about whoever the cowboys pick. The nostalgia the selection jingle invokes is nice as well. I'll be watching NFLN tonight though mostly

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
