At this point it wouldn't surprise me if one of our draftees doesn't make the roster...

Will be hot competition at CB in Spartanburg.  Good.

Would be a first for Gettleman.

Personally, I think Wegher or CAP is the odd man out.

We did also carry 10 DBs. It can work out any way they see fit, but I can see Bene, Boykin and McClain with the 3 picks at CB and 4 Safeties. That would be 10 in total. McClain can be the vet that can play outside in nickel and dime. Bradberry's ability to play both CB and S can help too.

That totals 5 CB's.

Last year the Panthers kept 4 CB's.

Chances of picking up another via free agency just dropped to nearly zero.

Also, terrible news for McClain and Teddy.

Whats the chances one could get moved over to safety?

Could be.

But picking 3 CBs in a row is also a first for G'man.  He's not as predictable as some of us thought!

Teddy drove me insane with his bone-headed penalties on special teams. I've read that Worley is a great special teamer as well. McClain performed admirably for being plucked off the street but the writing is on the wall for him now. Competition at the corner position may be at an all-time high in Spartanburg this summer and I ain't mad about it.

What do you think the chances are that one of the draft picks could be considered for safety?

    • There are no juggernauts this year. Feels like everyone in the playoffs field is gonna have a puncher's chance. All the best teams still have very obvious flaws.
    • It does vary, and depends on their health and other factors. I mean you really can’t look at the schedule in August and know what you will be facing mid season or even early Any time because stuff happens. It is any given Sunday relative to that. Early this year, KC was beatable. Will they be in December? And we don’t know if they’ll be motivated, or out of it. One team, that is likely a different team in 10 weeks. That’s an example what I mean.  Far as “decent” we know who the good teams are. We could hit a good team on a bad day, and we could have a really good one. It happens. All I’m saying. And I don’t expect it not to, for random teams. That’s about it. Predicting wins is an imperfect pastime.
    • To the folks the last couple years who were boosting up Josh Allen and shitting on Cam Newton. This one goes out to you.
