KK, as your agent....

  1. 1. I advise you to...

    • Sit out preseason activities until we get a long term deal done. Not worth the risk.

    • Be a team player and play out your rookie deal and get paid next year.

Honestly, he can't really hold out, the penalties are too steep now.

DG isn't liking some of these defensive players contracts, and now has a promising rook backing KK up....DG has the leverage here, not KK.

A lot of teams (read:most) are in cap hell and/or have far more pressing issues than to give KK insane money.

can you imagine what's going through Getty's mind as he looks at who he has to sign over the next 3 years?  Cam and Luke signed team-friendly deals because they want to win, but we can't expect that from everyone.

This is the price to pay for having excellent players. NO ONE wants KK back more than me, but not at the expense of Trai, White Buffalo, Star and Benji, just to name a few.  I hated losing Josh, Smitty and Dwill.

But 15 and 1 is not a small thing.  And we didn't get a ring.  Pats have multiple rings  because they stayed competitive for so long.  Sure some years they didn't get to the AFC championship game, but who really thinks you can do that 3 or 4 years in a row?

If DG and KK aren't close in a deal, then I'd let him play in his contract year and take it from there.  We'd get to see more of our 1st round pick.  With Love and our signing the best DT Atlanta had, we'll be ok if he sits out.  Not as good as with KK, but ok.

Gett needs to make more money.

If I was his agent, since I'd have a personal financial incentive, I'd try to get him the most money possible from whatever team is willing to pay it. If I was his friend, family member or close confidant, I would tell him to sign a deal now for less than market value and get that guaranteed money now without having to play another year on the rookie contract. And on a team like the Panthers he'll win more and be well known and have the ability to bring in sponsor money instead of being unknown while stuck on some perennial loser like the Jags.
