This. You know how many calls I've seen where a qb is doing a bootleg and gets hit and they still call a penalty? I'm sure we all have seen them, but that statement is ridiculous. If he crosses the LOS then there no more treatment. At least that's what I think. Then again, I have seen a lot of penalties when a qb slides and gets hit. Whatever at this point, I'm ready to move on, we all know it's bs.

As a QB, when he runs, he loses the protection afforded QBs while they still are considered passers and becomes a RB.  While he's running like a RB, the over arching helmet to helmet targeting rules also don't apply because he's still a QB.
