Cam Newton: My job is not to lobby for my health

I get the fact that Cam wants to win football games first and foremost, and I get the fact that Cam apparently has resolved himself to take a politically correct, overly cautious stance as it pertains to his professionalism, but Cam is just being too vanilla for my taste regarding the refs and dirty ponies.

I understand his focus on getting wins and not getting bogged down by yesterday's news, but from where I am sitting, Cam needs to understand that it is his job to lobby for his health. Ultimately that is his responsibility which may very well speak to whether the Panthers win or lose (which is also his responsibility).  I would go so far to say that as it is a team sport, it would have been nice if the Panthers, from J-Rich on down, would have taken it upon themselves to lobby for Cam's health as well.  I am just sorely disappointed in the responses or lack thereof regarding the safety and protection of the organization's franchise QB.

This Mr. Nicey Nicey vibe emanating from the Panthers regarding this situation is really kind of nauseating at this point.  But, I guess, it is what it is.

I think he should throw a fit to draw more negative attention his way. I think that would be the smartest thing he could do. He didn't get enough hate after the super bowl. I think he needs to try to one up himself. I mean seriously? Come on man.

I accepted that last year. It's sad. The guy is a saint compared to most NFL players and he still gets poo'd on. Like I said in another thread, Antonio Brown twerked in the end zone and the media loved it. Cam dabs and supermans and he is torn down. What a shame.

He's being smart.  Of course we all want him to stand up for himself, but if he takes a 180 now then he loses the support he has.  The majority of the public (surprisingly) already has his back on this issue. If it happens again there will be a bigger uproar.  Hopefully, only one more incident (on any quarterback) will actually make the league do something.

I thought his presser was fuging awesome. Its the mentalityI want my QB to have for the season.   He's right it's not his job to lobby for player safety.

The man has a son. I think he takes his health seriously. How are you going to suggest he doesn't just because he refused to play the victim at a press conference with our home opener days around the corner? Come on top dawg, be better than this.

He didn't say he wasn't concerned about his health. He said he isn't concerned with lobbying about his health. That is the job of other people in the organization and they do so behind the scenes.
