I would be pissed too if I were never afforded that treatment as a rookie on a 2014 team that was falling apart in the secondary until the rookies (Bene) stepped in and made plays.

Throwing Bene under the Julio Jones bus after Bradberry and Worley were beat bad in the 1st quarter was unacceptable. Bene is focused on nickel post recovery and the coaches throw him to the wolves to protect the fragile psyche of their rookie CBs.

Again, just to be clear, this guy has no inside access and everything he's saying here is fabricated.

If you're actually dumb enough to believe anything he says at this point, that's on you.

I don't think so scooter.  Bene was too slow because he hasn't fully recovered and is out of shape.  He may have made a play, maybe.  But to say it would have been different is wishful thinking.

Sanchez for sure was in way over his head. But, I really don't see the outcome being different with Bene out there.

So an out of shape Bene was going to keep up with Cooks on fly routes? 

He would have gotten Julio'd. Maybe not with the double moves, but there's no way he could have kept up with Cooks.

Rivera the week prior reminded people about him recovering from his injury....and then with no prep work they put him one on one with Julio all game.  Even if you get forced to adjust because of injury to play guys on Julio who weren't prepared....you don't do what Carolina did with Bene.

 

I understand your point. But Bradberry started on Julio, then Whorley, then is was Bene. So it wasn't, all game. Nit picky to be sure, but true none the less.

 

Also, Bene has been around for 3 years, and been around for what, 6, NO weeks?  How much prep work does he need?

 

You made a good point though. Ever since they Josh decision, they do seem to be scrambling around where the CB position is concerned. Bradberry getting hurt didn't' help, but it was going to be a mess without Josh. Everyone knew it was coming with the rooks, but no one could have seen it going this badly.
