never mind I just saw your clip after my post of viewing the original post ..definitely dirty forearm coming in the face/head!! what gives!!??

That's the first thing I noticed when I saw the replay the first time! It was like wtf? He was coming in launching with helmet and forearm. All 3 illegal and nothing called.

Idk man from that angle it doesn't look like helmet to helmet. It look very close though. The Aaron one was clear as fuging day

I can see the refs missing this one because it was so fast, but he leaves his feet and leads with his forearm, both are not legal.

Looks like the defenders helmet makes contact with Cam's to me. Not legal.

Don't forget the haymaker to the back of Cam's head as well. That was a helmet to helmet hit followed by a forcible blow with arm/hand at the back of Cam's head. He was trying to KO Cam without a doubt.

They could have gone to the body, but they are fearful Cam will not go down without a shot to the head.

People really think this was a clean hit? Come on.

Different angle

No doubt about it. @Jeremy Igo Use that as solid evidence that was a helmet to helmet hit. No doubt about it. I can't believe how many carolina reporters are so stubborn on this subject.

Incidental helmet to helmet. He lead with his shoulder. Still flag worthy because of the helmet, but not dirty and he won't get fined.

after a million replays and swallowing my own disgust and rage i am inclined to agree with this. he lead with the shoulder and his velocity (which was legal) lead to a glancing secondary hit with his helmet a split second later.

i don't think it was a dirty hit.

i do think it should've been flagged, based on the helmet-to-helmet contact regardless of intent, but it doesn't even rank in the top ten of flagrant hits he's taken this year. i'm not particularly mad about it and he didn't seem to be either.

I agree it isn't dirty. What ticks me off is all the talking heads not even considering it to be helmet to helmet and completely fine. That's what really riles me.

I've not even considered motive in my assessment of the play.  I just keep coming back to the rule.  No contact to the head of a QB in the pocket.  I couldn't care any less if he meant to do it or not, the fact is he DID make contact to the head of a QB in the pocket.  Result? Flag, personal foul, 15 yards and automatic first down.  These are not my opinions but statement of universally accepted fact.

I'd me more inclined to believe he didn't mean to hit his head if he didn't leave his feet.

I can see that, but as I mentioned I hadn't even entertained the notion it was intentional until I saw others bring it up.  I couldn't get passed the blatant obviousness of the infraction itself.  I mean how do you miss that?

So, coming back to that supposed "shoulder" hit on Cam, I snagged a GIF of it, and slowed it down to 15% original speed.

ezgif.com-gif-maker.gif

I don't know about you, but I certainly don't see any supposed "shoulder" hitting Cam first.

I do see a helmet smashing into Cam and giving me repercussions to the season opener.'

What do you think? Did the Rams get away with this one? Is the league really protecting our QBs?

I think it's a clean hit, however Brady would have gotten that call. It's a shame smh
