Matt Ryan sends a message to Luke

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan sent out well-wishes to NFC South foe Luke Kuechly, the Carolina Panthers' linebacker who tearfully exited last Thursday night's game against the New Orleans Saints with a concussion.

"My thoughts are you just hope he's OK," Ryan said Tuesday during his weekly radio appearance on Atlanta's 680 the Fan. "That's the No. 1 thing. He's a really good guy that I've gotten to know throughout the years. I think there's a fraternity amongst players that whenever somebody gets injured, it stops. You just want that person to be safe and healthy. And that was my thoughts through the entire thing."

I hate Ryan as far as my teams opponent but as a person i dont hate it. Heck i dont even know him personally. Thats great of him to send his wishes to Luke to get well. This shows you that players look past football especially when someone is hurt. A lot of saints players went up to Luke during the game.

(AP) — It had been a while since the Carolina Hurricanes had finished practice, with players coming and going from the locker room. Yet Logan Stankoven was still on the ice, leaving a crowd of reporters patiently waiting at his locker. Such is the dynamic for the 23-year-old as the Eastern Conference's top seed heads into Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to face the Philadelphia Flyers. Stankoven has been rolling at nearly a point-per-game pace going back to mid-March, including scoring in every game of Carolina's first-round sweep of Ottawa. Beyond the immediacy of that spotlight, though, is the other piece of Stankoven's story: the Hurricanes are betting he can keep growing into the role as second-line center, coming after spending multiple seasons searching for an answer there.
