QBs struggled with the Panthers secondary last year.

QBs are coming in with easy pitch and catch plays this year.

That about sums up the problem.

Has this secondary made a single QB struggle this season? Even in the wins against the 49ers, Rams, Saints, and Cardinals, the QBs did not find it difficult to get 1st downs and move down the field with the passing game.

Last season the QBs were afraid to throw the ball to the sidelines or over the top of the LBs with Norman on one side, Tillman on the other and Coleman sitting back waiting for the overthrow. The only hope was to split the safeties deep in the seam, and everyone knew it.

Now, the QB can throw just about anywhere as long as it is not directly at the LBs and their is very little threat of their WRs losing the battle.

Rivers, Cousins, Ryan, and Winston are going to have field days on the Panthers defense because of that awful secondary.

if the right teams fall 8-8 could win us a playoff berth, a surprise playoff run from an underdog team, a roster coming together late in the season as rookies harden and ron's flaws turn out to be magnified by the frustration every losing team faces and the panthers get a shot at a super bowl appearance for the fourth year in a row

but if none of this happens it's almost certainly because cam didn't wear a tie.

Tie power, bro. Forgetting the tie costs us at least one touchdown.

At this point with no realistic shot to make playoffs..... I just want to be the spoiler.. Living in Atlanta, if we were to crush the Falcons playoff birth it would make it all the sweeter for me personally.   After that, meh.

Only win is against Atlanta. They felt real good ending our perfect season last year, we're gonna feel a lot better ending their playoff hopes this year. Bucs win division, go 1 and done and we reclaim our throne next season.

Too many holes to fill to reclaim anything. Tampa is a team on the rise so I wouldn't bet on  them sucking next season.

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
