LOL @ the NFL being the punisher of crimes....morons looking to them for Americas discipline holy poo no wonder the judicial system doesn't work...people don't seem to want it to work....lets let the big corporations be our morality compass...can't make this poo up.

The outrage should lie in the fact that he got....probation?  k

Point of this thread is what exactly?

Is that some risks and vetting a player and a situation are worth it. Look at Frank Clark and Thomas Rawls both went to Michigan with Funchess, both guys got into some off field problems that lowered their draft stock(Rawls undrafted).

And now both are some of the best young talent at their respected positions.

The risk is too much for some organizations , which is understandable

No woman deserves to be hit but I also don't have a problem with guys who make mistake to still be able to play football.

Depends on the mistake.  I don't think everyone is owed a chance to play in the NFL after a mistake

The point is that he was found guilty of a felony on an issue the league pretended to care about and relatively few that watch even know.  The Chiefs took a calculated gamble and it paid off BIG TIME.

That's a really interesting point. I'm no draft nut or anything but I live in KC and know/work with a lot of huge/lifelong Chiefs fans and this is literally the first time I've heard about this incident. I don't think anyone here really knows about it, particularly odd after the Belcher incident.

He punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and choked her..  Why would you want someone like that on the Panthers? Because he's good at football? Some things are more important than playing a game well.. What he did is despicable and if there was a video of it, he'd never see the field

Look, I believe in second chances. I really do. Hill is a baller, and I don't think there's any doubt about it at this point. I will even say I am glad that he got a chance to prove himself on the field, and I hope that he continues to be a model citizen off the field and in his personal life.  But, again, I just wouldn't ever fully trust the dude, and as such wouldn't want him on my team.

Just think for a moment...He hit his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. Now put that within the context of the Panthers. Rae Carruth had his baby's mama gunned down in hopes that she and his child wouldn't survive. Can you honestly tell me with a straight face that if there was any franchise that should take a pass on Hill, that the Panthers shouldn't have been the first on the list?

Come on, man!
