I think the one thing you might want to look at was our pre/post bye snap counts and results. Horton was on the couch except 1 game pre-bye. Addison was 30ish% snap count guy and Ealy was the #1 snap count guy pre-bye. Wasn't working. Post bye, Addison replaced Ealy (except when he got hurt) and Horton's playing time went up. Our pressure was night and day pre/post bye. That's the reason we resigned Addison and Horton and let go of Ealy. They outplayed him as did CJ and the defense got better when Ealy's time reduced.

That said, I still think we draft a DE early, heck maybe double down with a guy who hangs out on the PS. I think the rookie may play a little (or a lot if just a plain old stud) early and then grow into a bigger role as the season progresses. Peppers and CJ are likely done after this year, so we need a rookie or two to pick it up.

CJ still has 2-3 years left as a rotational player.

Honestly, I think so. We have places that definitely need upgrading, (TE2, PR) or depth/upgrade (RB), but we have a complete roster right now.
