This Kelvin Benjamin weight issue is getting blown out of proportion.

I do think his current weight issues are definitely being overblown.  It's a legitimate point of discussion, but it's still overblown.

The real issue it raises for me is how dedicated is he?  I understand that last year he was limited on what he could do, so it was no surprise that he was not in ideal shape at the start of training camp.  However, he is fully healthy now, and at a time that most young. hungry players are spending time working on their craft, trying to improve their weaknesses, he's let himself get a little soft.

Sure, that doesn't mean he hasn't been working, but logic would tell you that someone working that hard in any physical activity wouldn't put on much weight.  The fact that he has a history of putting on weight and coming into camp a bit out of shape (even going back to college) is a little worrisome.  How is he going to react once he gets that big contract?  Is he going to become complacent and be an albatross on our salary cap?

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
