I still think that the delay is because they are still negotiating a medical settlement between him and the team. Big Mike is on the books to receive $5.5 million in salary and bonuses for being on the team, he just isn't going to walk away from an amount like that, especially when he looks at the long-term needs this injury might present.

The team is on the hook for $3 million in dead cap space if they cut him. I'm thinking that to get a retirement out of him, the injury settlement should be in that neighborhood.

But I honestly know nothing about what is going on behind the scenes. Just pure speculation.

not the nfl aren't total poo heads, but they kinda already have.

as long as you don't piss hot at the combine, you'll probably never be tested.

they like to use it as a stupidity test for new draftees. "hey this is the most important moment of your life don't get high for two weeks."

That is shocking and sad.

Is there a doctor in the house?  What in the world could all those meds be?

One is for migraines for sure, one might be Clonazepam (seizure meds also used for anxiety). Not a doctor so couldn't guess the rest. Some of those bottles look empty so he may not be taking a pill from each bottle everyday.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
