Hurney Statement

"I never lost the connection with the organization," Hurney said. "I've gained a lot of perspective and have looked at things in different ways. I think I can help this team in a lot of areas. I think I've grown. And I feel I'm better prepared to come in this time and do a better job than I did over the 12 years I was general manager last time."

That doesn't sound like a guy content with an interim role. Tell me I'm wrong.

Do you not believe that Hurney will learn from his mistakes and become a better GM?

    • Cancer is a strong word but he has had outbursts in the past couple of seasons when things were going south.  I think what is happening here is he got his raise, sees this team probably isnt doing jack poo this year and his hometown team has a tremulous opportunity that just opened up for him.   He knows the vikes are for real this year and more importantly last but not least it seems his wife is in favor of this move.
    • I mean I doubt he is the type that would be a cancer if we didn't move him. He has money keeping him happy for this year. I doubt its Vikings or nothing, if that were the case he would've never re-signed with us in the first place IMO.
    • I can believe that with Renfrow but Horn isn’t going anywhere. Panthers aren’t cutting a dude they just drafted, who also happens to have a ton of potential.
