Cam Newton thoughts

Very encouraged by what I saw from Cam yesterday. Mostly short passes, some intermediate, with plenty of zip on the ball. Actually looked a little tighter passes than towards the end of last season.

If you think about it, this is the best case scenerio.

Agree, Bradberry made a great play on the pick and there are still some timing issues Cam needs to work out with Shepard on those routes.

I was focusing on Cam after each throw to see if he was favoring his shoulder in any way and I didn't see any of that - he looked totally comfortable. If you didn't know he had shoulder surgery a few months ago you would have no idea based on his practice yesterday.

The one thing I'm worried about is timing with the receivers... and that SHOULD come (hopefully) with repetition in pre-season.

As long as he's able to keep throwing and there are no "soreness" set-backs (knock on bwood).

Yup, soreness and fatigue are the biggest enemies now. Noticed they only had him throwing the ball in 7 on 7 and 11 on 11. All the other drills where he would normally throw the ball he hung onto it. That's the pitch count they appear to have him on, only throwing the ball in live action.

He's always had zip, his problem is knowing when to take some off, you can't drill a receiver that's 7 yards away with that arm strength he has, it's gonna pop up and be picked every time, but I hope our "evolution " calls for more finesse out of the backfield, I'm excited to see the finished product

Cam looked really good yesterday. Remember one thing, especially admit the Cam pick, everybody knows that Cam won't be throwing deep much. They don't want him to push the shoulder too soon. The defense also knows this

Good point. They're not at all worried about double moves or go routes when Cam is in there.

Maybe taking away some of his god-given physical ability will further help develop the mental aptitude and finer points of passing.  Don't get me wrong, I love the Ed Dickson fire curve ball through 4 defenders, but relying on it gives me indigestion.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
