Kaelin Clay Traded to Bills

We at the least get a Comp 7th (floor trade value) for a guy we picked up late in the offseason.

That's a win.

No one here really even knew who this guy was before he was on the Panthers and now he nets us something in a trade and we have 5 receivers (which was the original expectation).  Also--we have a whole group of guys who can do returns: Byrd (KR, PR), Elder (KR, PR), CMC (PR) , Samuel (PR), Fozzy (KR)

Yes that a joke but seriously what the hell are you guys expecting in return for Kaelin freaking Clay?

I think we should never have kept both Byrd and Clay---so if we get anything for a player we should have cut, I think that is great.  I look at the draft like this:

The first round pick is a dollar.

The second rounder is a 50c piece.

The third rounder is a quarter.

The fourth rounder is a dime.

The fifth rounder is about 7c.

The sixth rounder is a nickel (see where I am going here?)

The seventh rounder is 2c.

So if we get 2c for something we were going to throw away, we could use it to move a sixth rounder into the fifth round.

Yes, but the trade gives us a pick later and frees a roster spot.   Byrd is decent depth behind Samuel--I doubt both Byrd and/or Clay would have had a jersey on Sundays.

A late-round pick that will be made by Marty Hurney...

Basically worthless.
