I heard we blitzed on nearly 50% of their dropbacks in which Stafford had no success. All his work was on 4 or less pass rushers. People want to say we let off the gas on offense, it was the defense where we let off the gas.

it was both

Shaq is expected to be inconsistent. The man hasn't had a position full time since arriving in the NFL and even here he's been asked to do a ton of things that most players aren't asked to do. 3 years ago he was playing running back at Washington. Similar to Thomas Davis, it's going to take some time before he really looks the part. It's not an easy position to learn.

Nice one calling CJ out and praising Shaq Thompson using two plays that show CJ running textbook outside contain and one where Shaq loses gap control and misses a tackle to let Stafford escape the pocket.

This is a constant reminder why you play first round picks. Shaq plays like a rookie. Not that film study doesn't help but game time is also super important. I never liked the pick for that same reason.

I think it was an expectation pick.  They were expecting TD to slow down, get injured, or retire....and none of those happened.

He will probably pay off in the long run, but I agree, he hasn't been used as much as I would prefer for a high pick.

However, when looking back at that draft...there hasn't been much good behind Shaq's selection.

We let the gas off on Offense, Defense, and STs.  It's not one or the other or all or nothing regardless of how Huddle minds tend to think.
