I know it's not keen, but man. Props to Gettlemen again. At least when our QB goes down, we can still win games.

Yeah, it looks like the historical stats do bear this out. Which, I wouldn't have disputed the "choker" label on Peyton, for sure. I had forgotten how good the Colts defense was at times, obviously.

Yeah, and Aaron besides for two years has worked with Dog poo.  Complete and utter dog poo.

I'm not getting the hate for Anderson here. The guy stepped in and actually WON us games when he needed to. Yeah, he looked like crap in preseason this year when an "evolved" offense was being created, plays and gameplans during games were bare bones skimpy...but what has the guy done in actual game time that matters made so many poo on him to no end?

Could he replace Cam for the rest of the season and be successful? Probably not. Someone mentioned he would be dead as an immobile QB behind this line. That line has been trash in the same games Cam was out, he started..and won for us!

Its like Bersin. Dude has made nearly every catch thrown to him when it mattered, but fumbled some punts (not his job) and he is trash. Anderson came in and started and won us games, but he looked like crap in preseason (when games dont really count) so he is trash.

Shame. When we won those games with Anderson most agreed he was the best backup in the league, and likely could even start for a few truly needy teams. Some straight fickle ass fans around here.

I don't think people hate him. But we do have to acknowledge that he is aging and also that he isn't likely to be as effective under the kind of pressure he might face, if only because he is significantly less capable of scrambling out of those situations. Would he be able to put throws on target and make decisions more quickly than Cam in those scenarios? Possibly. I just don't know how much I like him put in front of the firing squad that our OL is at the moment.

I certainly hope no one doubts his value over the course of his career here. As has been stated many times, he probably held claim to the "best backup QB" title for quite a few years.

Derek Anderson was signed by Hurney.

Even having Weinke as a backup wasn't entirely bad. He won a game for us in 2005 against Detroit. Hurney certainly screwed us over by not working a Delhomme replacement, even in 2007 it was David Carr who sucks.

I was having a similar debate with a coworker last week.  We Were discussing whether or not Jordy Nelson is more a product of Rodgers or is he just a great receiver who would be just as good with pretty much anyone.

Rogers has made lots of guys look good.  His throws are dead ass on point and catchable.

Sidebar:  I don't like the word catchable.  I mean, it's not touch or lack of velocity its something else that I don't think we have a word for other than catchable.

Jordy is a great athlete or he couldn't come back from injuries and perform like he does.  They're a great combo.

Detroit never punted last night.  NOT ONCE DID THEY PUNT.  So, no.  It wasn't all on Hundley, even though he sucks.

There system was set up for the offense to carry the defense. So yes it was his fault and yes he sucks. Packers are done this year.

How Dom Capers  still  has a job as DC amazes me. Their defense has cost them the chance at several more SBs

This is dumb, success in the NFL is dependent on a franchise QB.  Gettleman had the luxury of already having not only a franchise QB, but a once in a generation type of talent in Cam Newton.  You cant under sell this fact.  Without Newton, Gettleman would not have been able to address anything else on this team until he found a decent QB.  He also had a once in a generation type of talent at MLB.  Everyone credits him with getting us out of Cap hell, but the truth is the Cap went up significantly during his tender here more than at any point during hurney's first time around.  Also the best players currently on this team excluding KK, were all drafted or brought in by Hurney.  Im not a Hurney apologist, but I do think Gettleman gets way to much credit for the success of the team. Also, Hurney gets thrown under the bus too much for doing what he had to do.  If your boss tells you to do something you do it.  If not you end up like Gettleman.

Aaron Rodgers has been the real MVP of the NFL for like 9 out of the last 11 seasons.

He has had a NFL passer rating of less than 100 only twice in the last 11 years (93.8 and 92.7 were his "off years").

Nelson is a nice player, but Green Bay is virtually a one man team on both sides of the ball.

For comparison, Cam has never touched 100, not even in his "magic" 2015 season.

Rodgers is EVERYTHING to that team.

I mean, from a personnel standpoint, I just can't fathom having Aaron Rodgers and not trying to put a great Defense around him.  I just don't get how as a GM you can be that complacent, and have such a shitty team around that great of a QB.

You are misleading people. The Packers have had plenty of good Defenders. However, through injury, and defections, they cannot seem to sustain the talent level.

There are a lot of ex Packer defenders all over the place. For some strange reason, they all seem to leave for more money. And that Defense is cursed, injury wise. And as a Lions fan, I can't stay if feel too awful sorry for them.

If you want to blame the FO for anything in GB. Blame them for being cheap. They do exactly what Gman didn't want to do. Develop kids for other teams.

Come on man. I know you are just trying to make a point. But this is just not true.

You don't win a SB with utter dog poo.

You don't go to the playoffs almost every year with utter dog poo.
