No no no we can't fault someone for actually committing a crime. It's obviously the person who was set ups fault. It's just a money grab and Kalil has a bunch of it.

How is this a money grab? This type of thing happens everyday in towns/cities all across America. The owner of the liquor license is legally liable.

It's really a non issue. Kalil's company will pay a fine and most likely terminate the employee responsible. The End.

This will have zero impact on his football career. His business on the other hand.......

Also, why is Kalil at fault for this? Our alcohol laws are stupid AF.

The idea is when a bar serves underage, the owner can’t  just blame an employee and fire someone to take the heat off.

On one hand, alcohol laws are stupid.

On the other, the same 19 year old guy that’s trying to get a 17 year old drunk is the same guy that does it at 20, 21, 25, 30 etc.

eventually he’s a judge from Alabama.

The manager of the restaurant that M Kalil owns let a 17 year old waitress serve a beer to a 19 year old woman. Cops were being fugging cops and charged Matt Kalil for the horrific crime of serving a 19 year old a fugging beer. There's more than one person responsible for this travesty but Kalil isn't one of them. Where are the charges against the 19 year old for ordering it? Her parents?

It is his business therefore he is responsible for all of the happenings within that business. He needs to accept blame, while fighting the charges, and establish a process that doesn't allow for this to happen again so that he will not face a similar situation; in the SEALs, this is called extreme ownership.

Ultimately, the person at the top is responsible. Especially if they have a hand in managing the restaurant. Own it, examine it, find a solution to ensure it doesn't happen again.

This won't be a popular opinion, but in no way am I saying that Malik deserves to face charges. Only that the law is the law and a business owner is responsible for ensuring his business complies with the law; whether that is through the hiring of competent employees, investments in technology, training on ABC laws, etc.

Well technically it was a 17 year old chick serving a 19 year old chick a drink sooooo.....

It was probably just some chick serving her buddy a drink. Big friggin' deal. Good to see cops are focused on the big issues with society.

How can and under aged kid work in a place that serves pizza and alcohol anyway. Pizza is a different story but when alcohol is involved it changes the whole thing.

Lots of states let 18 year olds serve.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
