"I've got a lot of friends I played with over there and a lot of coaches," Ealy said. "It's going to mean more to me playing in that game and just being fired up about going out there and just really doing what I need to do for my team. But also, getting a little revenge, I guess you could say."

The reason these players perform good after being released or traded is because they get motivated. Steve smith had around 700 receiving yds. We release him, he goes for over 1,000yds next season. Well gee, if you had played like that before, you wouldn't have been released. After his, "look panthers made a mistake by releasing me" season, he never eclipsed 800yds or 5 tds again. Same with d willis. He was continuously injured and barely had 200 rush yds. He gets released. He goes off in Pitt for over 800 yds and 11 tds starts talking trash. Well gee, maybe if you were playing like that before, we wdnt have released ya! Same goes with ealy. Some players needa get cut to find motivation.

Smitty was averaging nearly 100 yards per game before he tore his achilles a couple years ago. He was absolutely dominating that year. And was very solid last year coming off the injury. I don't necessarily think releasing him was the wrong move, as his production in '13 was dropping and he had a huge salary going forward, but to say he wasn't still good aside from being mad about the release is just stupid.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
