Coach's film on the CMC long run....

I know there has been some debate on this. Here is the coach's film view. Safety had the angle on him on the outside. Looks like maybe he was hoping for at least a little help from Funchess in blocking. He got none.

Smh that is not even close to true, rocket.

Because @electro's horse immediately made a thread ten minutes after this play and provided some very insightful and unbiased analysis on how CMac sucks and purposely cost the team 4 points.

I like his chances if he kept that outside.  Still good to see a run like this.

He should have cut inside later and then immediately back outside, turning the safety's feet just long enough to burst by him.

Maybe if he cut it back outside once the safety turned his hips inside. He might have felt the corners closest to him were gaining on him though. Really hard to say what he is thinking. Can't really criticize him from his decision.

I guess every run that doesnt get housed will be questioned on the huddle.  Thats one of the better run plays Ive seen this year from us.

I love how people watching the game on TV know better than a first-round draft pick which way he should cut on any given play.

Obviously he should have stayed outside. He’s a young player. Sht happens

It looks like the LBers bit hard on the counter? They flow right and instantly CMC is busting through the line on their left. They got caught flat footed and the single Safety was cheating to Funch and didn't seem to even consider it might be a run play. What was the down and distance on this play? I don't remember. But aside from solid execution, I might say this apparently was an excellent play call because the defense seemed to be caught.

If funchess had just bumped his guy a little it would have been 6 points. Lack of help from 17 hurt more than not sticking to the outside.
