People dont pay to see the head coach.  And if they plan on using him as a marketing gimmick, a 100 million dollar 10 year deal is a bit much.  Im not in marketing but that doesnt quite add up.

Yes, he got old and started losing his marbles, but Al Davis was legitimately a great football mind in his time and he made the Raiders a team to be feared and respected.  And the Rooney name may be on that rule, but Al Davis helped it happen.

The most positive thing he did for his coaching career was stop coaching. 

The only offers he got for the first few years were small college teams. 

He just needed the world to forget he was pretty bad while he promoted himself as a likeable guy.
