I just never will get why Matt Kalil was given such a lucrative deal befitting of a top 11 LT.  To me it just showed a lack of foresight.  That bit of money could have been the very thing to help to keep Norwell a Panther for the long term. It most certainly could have been used for the short term as a bridge to the long term.  How you like them apples...?

Could've, would've, should've. That Kalil contract won't be the major deciding factor on whether or not we retail Norwell. This coming season is the last year he's guaranteed to be on the roster.

I can’t help but think Matt Kalil’s contract was Jerry’s or Ryan’s doing and the whole “family” environment. There’s no way that money was issued on past performance.

50+ million to one of the worst left tackles in the NFL. Let Ginn walk to our biggest rival for peanuts to the detriment of our WR core. Drafted an RB 8th overall that couldn't even crack 500 rushing yards while our QB led the team in rushing and ended up nearly destroying his knee.

not a good summary...but you are right about Kalil though.
