I'm surprised they have draft profiles out so early before the combine

Those comparisons you really have to take with a grain of salt

I mean Fitzpatrick compared to Budda Baker?

Darnold Still being compared to Luck?

And Kirk weakness is speed and seperation.  Whoever scout this is didnt watch a down of Kirk last year.  These are actually his strengths.  Heck he is probably the fastest/quick WR in the SEC and 99% of the scouts other than this guy project him to run in the 4.32-4.35 range

A good comparison for Kirk is Desean Jackson coming out of Cal

Some more comparisons:

  • Calvin Ridley : Marvin Harrison (VERY lofty comparison lol)
  • Dante Pettis: T.J. Houshmandzadeh
  • Courtland Sutton: Muhsin Muhammad
  • Deon Cain : Roddie White
  • Derrius Guice : Marshawn Lynch
  • Sony Michel : Knowshon Moreno
  • Nick Chubb : Alfred Morris
  • Royce Freeman : Donta Foreman

quicker than fast... small catch radius..  diesnt get separation...

if this is anything close to being accurate no thanks

go get a DE

Funch, Samuel, Olsen, CMC can hold down the fort.

We need a passrush. We need a developed young guy ready to produce. Might take a year. Do it while we still have Peppers

He's basically an NFL style Curtis Samuel who won't get hurt as often or drop Cams fastballs.

I mean sure whatever. Its sad to see an actual game changer.. Fiztpatrick going to Tampa. Meanwhile we pray for Kurt Coleman and Mike Adams to be active every Sunday, then blame Worley for when the safeties can't catch up to any NFC south WR.

I will wait till I see his 40 time but he looks plenty fast on tape.  Playmaker and no question we can use this dude.  Get him in the second and I am good with that.

this.

that writeup on him was terribly in inaccurate.

Crazy even saw a few people on ESPN even have him ahead of Ridley, one even stating he was the better route runner than Ridley

The guy is Fast and damn quick.  One of the best WRs in college football at getting seperation.

He has been a WR full time lining up slot And outside.  Hes light years ahead of Samuel at route running and the route tree.

He has good hands and fast quick reaction with the hands as well.  You know what makes Antonio Brown so great, is his fast hands.  There was a nice piece on Brown on one of the networks highlighting this.  Stating its almost impossible for DBs to to guard as the DBs watch for the hands and he is so quick with them.

Kirk has those fast hands as well

Kid played with at least a halfway decent QB and solid Offense.  He'd be going top 15

They didnt nickname him baby ODB for no reason.

The NFL.com player comparison for Saquon Barkley is Barry Sanders. LOL

What a terrible comparison. Barkley is 230 pounds though he is very quick and fast for that weight. I'd say more along the lines of a Ladainian Tomlinson or Edgerrin James.

The guy looks like a can't miss NFL star, but the history of Penn State RB busts does give me pause.

He's no better than Curtis Samuel, I think he was just a solid college receiver not super electrifying. Being a SEC guy I watched him a lot never stood out to me. He's a second or third rounder in my opinion. Panther's defense came in as oldest in the NFL at the beginning of the year, and in the last few weeks the secondary was the worst in the league. Defensive end and safety/corner(Worley sucks) are bigger needs. The defense is whats going to carry us. Kuechly even said got to get it back to 2015 form.

I mean defense was great that year but it was our #1 Offense that put us over the top.... There needs to be like a balance or going offensive focused drafting because we already tried it leaning toward the defense.

im ok with Christian Kirk but Anthony Miller has a similar skill set and could be had a bit later in the draft.

Call me crazy but I view Miller as the 3rd best receiver behind Ridley & Sutton.  Miller is a true receiver who can line up flanker or slot.  He plays like he's 6'3 even though he's a hair under 6'.  The hand catching and route running is polished and he plays like a man on the mission.  Put him on the outside and he just gets past defenders and grabs it.  He took over games for Memphis.

St. Brown is a mystery bag with huge potential, I do NOT like Washington, and I am very meh about Kirk.  Kirk seems well rounded and solid and all, but nothing above that ever shows.  He's a less explosive Samuel with more of a seasoned skill set.  We don't need that.

    • Here’s a summary of the JJ and Luke podcast transcript. Opening / Bryce Young Fifth-Year Option     •    JJ: Breaking news — Panthers picked up Bryce Young’s fifth-year option at $25.9M, guaranteed, coming in 2027. Combined with his 2025 salary of ~$6M, that’s $31M over two years — called it a “no-brainer.”     •    Luke: Enthusiastic about the move. Highlighted Bryce’s improving TD/INT ratios (11/10 → 15/9 → 23/11) and the value of entering year three with Dave Canales. Noted $25M is a bargain relative to the $60M top of market. Luke’s Personal Update — Charlotte Christian Football     •    Luke: Working with Charlotte Christian school football program, which hired a new head coach. Coaches include Greg Olsen, Luke, and Greg’s dad Chris Olsen (a New Jersey State coaching Hall of Famer).     •    JJ: Jokingly quipped that Charlotte Christian’s coaching staff is “the world’s greatest” — a Fox analyst, a Hall of Famer, and the best Panthers RB ever — all coaching middle school football.     •    Luke: Praised Chris Olsen’s deep football knowledge spanning decades and his ability to connect with kids. Round 1, Pick 19 — Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia     •    JJ: Panthers were on the clock and submitted their pick almost immediately — a sign of confidence and preparation. Freeling is 6’7”, 320 lbs, played in the SEC in a pro-style system.     •    Luke: Loved the pick. Emphasized you can never have too many quality offensive linemen. Noted Freeling’s size, athleticism, and arm length as key traits. Said the pick also reflects team’s philosophy of drafting great people, not just great players.     •    JJ: Noted reporter Darren Gantt compared Freeling favorably to Jordan Gross — bigger, heavier, and faster — as a potential franchise left tackle.     •    Luke: Pointed out that young players like Freeling still have physical development ahead of them, comparing the trajectory to Christian McCaffrey’s growth from age 20 onward. Round 2, Pick 49 — Lee Hunter, DT, Texas Tech     •    JJ: Panthers traded up from 51 to 49 (pick swap with Minnesota) to grab Hunter. Played audio from Panthers area scout Kaden McLuhan, who scouted Hunter.     •    Scout Kaden McLuhan (audio): Said Hunter’s size is immediately striking, and that everyone around him spoke glowingly about his character, energy, and love for the game.     •    Luke: Praised Hunter as a massive (6’3”, 320 lbs, ~34” arms) two-gap nose tackle who fits perfectly in the Evero defense. Compared his prospect profile to Akiem Hicks. Said having Derek Brown, Bobby Brown, Derrick Brown, Terson Wharton, and now Hunter creates varied body types that stress offensive linemen.     •    JJ: Noted Hunter ranked third among all prospects in run-stuff rate and sixth in interior pass-rush win rate — addressing a perception that he couldn’t rush the passer. Rounds 3–7 Highlights     •    Luke: Highlighted WR Brazle (3rd round, 6’4”, 437 speed, 1,000+ yards at Tennessee) as the vertical threat the offense needed. Also praised OL Sam Heck (5th round) as a technically sound player whose “short arms” caused him to fall but who has proven himself.     •    Luke: Mentioned CB Will Lee (6’1”, 33” arms) fits the Panthers’ DB prototype — big, long corners.     •    Luke: Praised S/LB hybrid Zaki Wheatley (5th round, 6’3”) as a big nickel similar to Trayvon Merek.     •    Luke: Excited about the linebacker competition between Devin Lloyd, Trevvin Wallace, and Claudin Cherless.     •    JJ: Noted Panthers had the #1 “steal/overreach” rating in the entire draft — drafting players lower than consensus big boards projected. Around the League     •    Luke: Admitted being “a little jealous” that the Miami Dolphins drafted LB Jacob Rodriguez (Luke’s favorite LB in the draft). Has personal connections to Miami’s coaching staff (Jeff Hafley, DC Shawn Dugen — a childhood teammate).     •    Luke: Also noted Miami’s selection of OT/G Kaden Proctor out of Alabama, who will likely move to guard. League Trends — Bigger Tight Ends / 12 & 13 Personnel     •    JJ: Observed the NFL saw its highest run rate in ~11 years (~52%) and a notable pivot toward big blocking tight ends in this draft.     •    Luke: Explained the cyclical nature of NFL offense/defense evolution — as defenses get smaller to match spread offenses, teams counter with bigger personnel (12/13 formations), which then forces defenses to get bigger at the nickel/“big nickel” spot. Called it an ongoing arms race.
