Honestly still wish we would've cut him and went with Butker...but he earned that type money last year.  I hate all kickers not only VERY short contracts, though.

I rather save the money and draft a kicker. Gano has shown time and time again he can’t be relied upon. For as good as he was this year, his stats look better since he didn’t attempt any FGs beyond 50 besides the playoff game. The same playoff game that he missed a FG in.

Aside from the season he played with an injured foot Gano has been very good for us. This isn't Madden, kickers are going to occasionally miss. I think back to the Mare and Medlock days and I'm very grateful for Gano.

I'd just tag Gano before I gave him that contract. The tag would probably work out to be a little over $4M and then you're not married to Gano long-term.

Gano is a terrific kicker who is the best in the NFL in kickoff touchback %  He's a very important part of this team, it won't be exciting but we will re-sign him.

Butker had a great season, but was 0/1 in his playoff game in which they lost by 1 point to the Titans. Gano at least made several against the Saints including one very long one to go with his miss. Gano is proven to be a solid kicker and (like many posters have mentioned) constantly gets us touchbacks.
