People calling Torrey smith a legitimate deep threat have not seen him play in years. We just committed almost 10 million to Graham gano and Torrey smith in a week. Darryl Worley is not nearly as bad as eveyone made him out to be. He was a cheap young corner who was our best tackling secondary player. You all might not have loved him, but we just created an unnecessary hole. We still need a WR and now need corner depth.

This is a classic Hurney move. They guy still hasn't learned.

Going into the season with Bradberry and Worley as starters would have been disappointing. The CB position will be upgraded.

Yes, this is indeed a classic Hurney move. Hurney is excellent at acquiring very good players via trade. We stole Chris Harris and Greg Olsen from Chicago.

One got Cam Newton and Luke coming into their prime with a HC that started to improved. Hurney had young Cam, Rookie Luke, and a dumb ass Ron that don’t know what he was doing.

I can't remember reading a post by you that was positive about any move the Panthers made, so I'm not really surprised.

Well then you don't pay attention and just make poo up.

loved the cam pick. Loved the greg Olsen trade. Loved the star pick. Loved the trade to move up and get funchess. Loved re-signing kk and Turner. Loved the Peppers signing. Loved the jared Allen trade. Loved the Andy lee trade when they got him. I'll even give you a move I loved when you probably weren't a fan. I loved when Hurney traded for rod gardner (I was wrong). Loved the Ken Lucas and mike wahle signings. I can go on and on, but I rather not entertain clowns.

Worley got way too much hate on these boards. He was nowhere near as bad as made out to be here.

He just didn't look anywhere near as bad as Coleman & Bradberry... He was still bad for most of the year and was burnt deep plenty of times last season. He is still way too slow and has no vertical to be a corner/FS. May be able to play SS, but probably needs to put some muscle on.

Sammy Watkins is going to get insane money... getting a WR like Smith for $5M who can both start on the outside and play the Ginn role is not a bad deal... I'm sorry- it's just not

Torrey Smith is not Ted Ginn. Ginns  thing was his speed  thats not Smiths thing nobody fears Smith going deep

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
