Expect Hurney to double up in Draft

Recommended Posts

8 out of 11 drafts he conducted for the Panthers he selected 2 players from the same school.

Other trends I noticed are that his first 3 rounds typically are players from big name schools. He doesn't mess with smaller schools in early rounds with a few exceptions. And, in almost every draft there has been a trade within the first 3 rounds, whether it's up or down, he makes moves.

In conclusion, I could see a number of schools being double dipped by Hurney in the first 3 rounds, as well as potentially a trade to move up for a player he likes.

What big namd schools out there have players that fit a need at multiple positions who could theoretically be on the board when the Panthers pick?

Texas A&M? Stanford? Georgia?

I honestly have no faith in this organization until a new owner, GM and maybe even coaching staff is in place. The secondary is complete trash and cannot be fixed with a bunch of rookies from the draft. We just patch worked the WR position with a couple average guys. I hope it works out but I have my doubts. Poe was our best signing by far but not sure the money could have been better spent for a higher level WR. Any new owner news? This is what Im most looking forward to.

I remember when he traded up for that superstar Armanti Edwards from that power house school App State

We're all so lucky not to be publicly remembered for the dumbest thing we ever did. Well, one of the dumbest things.

He rolled the dice, failed miserably... is it too much to ask that we live in the present with this poor bastard? He's really not doing so terribly this time around.

    • This is the Saints current QB room, a 2nd round rookie and former 4th and 5th round QBs.  Pretty sad when Rattler is your best option even though Shough is tops of their depth chart for right now. Dude would have been a day 3 guy in the 2024 QB class right there with Rattler.  A paper thin QB class pushed Shough to a day 2 pick.  Expect them to sign a veteran before training camp.
    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
