He grew up a Lions fan. Imagine playing for the team you always dreamed of being on as a kid. Tough to compete with that.

Its a one year deal though. I could understand if it was long term. But one season?

Probably sees Detroit as a better place to showcase himself and really cash in next year.

Gets to be a primary option instead of a backup in Detroit.

It makes sense to me.  He comes here and he's a clear #2 TE in an offense that throws the ball less than the team he went to.  He goes there, becomes the clear #1 TE in an offense that throws a lot more.

No brainer tbh.

Yeah, but pretty much everyone knows this is Greg's last year. He had the opportunity to replace the only TE that has had three consecutive 1000 yard seasons

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
