What TV streaming service do you use? (PS Vue, Sling, YT Tv, Direct TV Now)

Cut cable a few months ago and have been using an indoor antenna...  It works pretty good but I miss my TV...  But I loathe Spectrum/Time Warner worse than my ex-wife...  I think I have settled on Sling after lots of research just wondered if anyone had some hands on experience with any of these options?

I Have access to sling Amazon and Netflix.  Sling is your cheapest option.. YouTube t.v. did look interesting to me because I'm sure they'll start their own programming like Netflix but don't think it's worth double the cost of sling.   All mine is free though.

I would compare the channels that you want included. I find that sling had more of what we enjoyed watching. I compared to YouTube and Hulu tv.

The beauty about all of these is they are on a month to month basis. If you need to pause your service you can do it. Want to watch a specific show on Hulu? Purchase it for one month and then cancel. That's what we do.

Oh, and sling has NFL Network.

If you sign up for sling, I'm pretty sure a Roku is included and you can get all of the necessary apps on it.

had sling. hated sling.

ps vue most like having cable or satellite than any other. best and most channel options. kind of has a built in DVR.

that said....the only time i use it is watching sports (no problem watching panthers or any of the ncaa tourney). aside from that...i'm usually watching netflix stuff and occasionally stuff on amazon. seriously thinking about pulling the plug on ps vue except for march madness and football season. its all i can do the rest of the year to keep up with the few shows i actually have time to watch (which is pretty much 0 except for weekends i'm  not working). my daughters pretty much just watch stuff that's on netflix and amazon and youtube. my wife just watches whatever is on tv in those few moments she gets to sit and do nothing.

Antenna for local and Panthers.

Netflix and Amazon (not sure I'd sub to amazon just for streaming, it's for the fast shipping/whole package).

MLB.tv for baseball

Everything else I use newsgroup access and have programs for

some of those would be illegal, and should not be openly discussed as it may cause issues for the owner of said message board.

No, it won't.    Newsgroups aren't illegal.    We've had these discussions many times in the past as well.    None of those apps are illegal either.    Chill out white knight.

I've used Sling a few times for baseball playoffs, every year I try it's terrible.   It's slightly better if streaming from PC but still, pretty bad.   Hulu live on Spectrum for me and others in CLT region has drop outs and seems to be an issue.     Quality is fine but it cuts in and out.

creating a copy of copyrighted material without the permission of the owner is illegal.  Posting an illegal copy of copyrighted material is illegal.  Downloading, owning, streaming, consuming, etc an illegal copy of copyrighted material is illegal.  Discussing how to perform any of these actions on a forum makes the owner of the forum and accessory in that illegal activity.

I don't care if you start the next napster, just be courteous to people who don't want to be part of it, eg Igo and his crew.  They are legally responsible for the content posted on this site.

Newsgroups aren't illegal, there are thousands of legal files on there.    I'm sorry you don't know what you are talking about.     You should google newsgroups and do some some research.     The applications, can be used to download legal files.    Plex is a legal app that people use as well.    And, for the 2nd time, these threads come up every 2 months and we have the same discussions.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
