What do you think, especially after giving Greg that big ol contract with peanuts for cap space, and we also need to sign draft picks.

Should be a formalilty. I think Shepard, Bersin , and possibly Byrd will all be gone. Especially since Greg (TE) and CMC (RB) are basically WRs in our offense as well

Torrey Smith and Shep may both be axed. Byrd, when healthy, showed put last year and you don't dump a guy who showed what he showed last season. Samuel was a second round pick and was finding his way in the Dolphins game. Shep showed nothing and we likely save on cap space by cutting both Smith and Shep.

Funchess is a bit of veteran type player now, has been to a super bowl, and could fill the leadership role for that position group. Let us not forget we still have Olsen.

I think Byrd will stick around on the PS, you know one of our WRs will get hurt for the year and we will call him up. solid depth TBH.

Greg Olsen extension was swallowed up by Richardson/draft news Thurs. Thought it was a good deal for both sides given that it was only 2 yrs. Also, saves Panthers more than $1M vs the cap this yr.

(AP) — It had been a while since the Carolina Hurricanes had finished practice, with players coming and going from the locker room. Yet Logan Stankoven was still on the ice, leaving a crowd of reporters patiently waiting at his locker. Such is the dynamic for the 23-year-old as the Eastern Conference's top seed heads into Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to face the Philadelphia Flyers. Stankoven has been rolling at nearly a point-per-game pace going back to mid-March, including scoring in every game of Carolina's first-round sweep of Ottawa. Beyond the immediacy of that spotlight, though, is the other piece of Stankoven's story: the Hurricanes are betting he can keep growing into the role as second-line center, coming after spending multiple seasons searching for an answer there.
