Yes. Let’s fire the GM right now. Smart.

Christ.

I see you just joined the bandwagon and I await all of your wonderful nonsensical posts to prove that you know football. Since you missed it last year, our last GM, who is now Giants GM, the team from new york that wears blue and says giants on the helmet, got fired right before training camp for unknown reasons. So letting our shitty GM that put us in cap hell and for some reason fuging rehired only to blow the draft and leave glaring holes in our roster get fired right now would be a lot better of a choice than what happened last time. But alast, it won't and Hurney will probably be here until he dies then we pay Cam until he's 50. The Steelers are the complete opposite of the term progressive. There's a handful of players on that team that were there in 2005. They care about jersey sales and people in their seats.

That's the kind of approach I've been talking about recently (Woodie too).

Lot of people have speculated that Becker will be gone sooner rather than later.

With what happened, if you fire Becker you are going to need to fire Hurney and a few others as well and replace them with minority candidates. Becker isn't a white bald guy so you can't simply replace her for poor performance.

Make her sit down for an interview with the Observer first.

The team has blocked any and all attempts to interview her. The only thing they did that even came close was allowing someone to send a list of questions in written form. Who knows who actually responded to that?

Seems pretty clear that don't want her put on the spot in any way, shape or form. Doesn't exactly sound like how you treat someone you have a whole lot of confidence in.

Doesn't really matter this day and age. She's female and there was a huge scandal involving females. By PC right she is safe unless you fire Hurney and everyone around JR.

Tina is JRs figure head and we all know she "worked" her way up. She is a great example of JR rewarding loyalty over qualifications. There's plenty of reports saying many inside the organization are unqualified for the positions they hold.

I highly expect those people will be fired quickly.

Probably but I expect it to be a month or 2. Tepper will probably wait a while  before making those changes. Really no rush in the operations side.  Football side will be at the end of the season except Hurney. Hard to say when he will be let go if he is.

Franchise is very successful over the past 5 years and coming off an 11-5 season. No reason to rock the boat before the season.  Evaluate and plan during the season. Come February 19, who knows how he will execute strategy but to do anything prior to that is bad business.  Tepper dont do bad business

Except the GM that put them there is in N.Y..

I’ve always believed that everyone in the buidling is on a one year contract once the new owner was approved. If Tepper meets with Marty and they don’t share the same vision, Marty will be gone.

Nobody is perfect, and that includes Gettleman who made egregious mistakes during his time as well.

I know some people on this board are so hell bent to have Marty gone they were hoping false allegations from his ex-wife ended his time with the Panthers. The hate you have is pathetic and I truly hope you never ever have to potentially fight for your job or livelihood based on someone making false accusations against you.

If you don’t like the GM of your team, that’s perfectly acceptable. Don’t act like it’s ruining your life.

    • It's honestly pretty interesting just seeing this pairing play out. Canales’ offenses (Seattle, Tampa) are run-first, under-center, play-action systems built around defined reads and intermediate/deep timing throws. That structure worked when he had QBs like Baker Mayfield or Russell Wilson in a system that created clear launch points and sightlines. His success has always been tied to a credible run game + play-action gravity. You can see that with the Panthers team building philosophy as well. Coker and TMac both are bigger receivers that won't get the best YAC production but thrive as possession receivers in contested scenarios. They're not the best in space and creating additional yardage in such, and would likely fair better systematically with a stronger armed QB who can create better opportunities on those boundary 1v1 matchups with stronger throws. Bryce, on the other hand, is a spread-native QB. His strengths are rhythm, spacing, quick processing, and off-script creation. Asking him to live in condensed formations with long-developing play-action concepts just hasn't been his forte. And well, his boundary throws are limited in velocity which takes a big chunk of the playbook off. And I mean a QB like Bryce can still work, it's just Dave's offensive philosophy and foundation is very much at odds with Young's physical limits and his own experience. So it's certainly still a learning experience for Dave to figure out how he can mesh his offensive philosophy with Young's strengths. He's very inexperienced with maximizing Bryce's strengths with his system. Would love to see us bring in an OC with spread experience and adaptability to implement a cohesive system with Dave to allow Bryce to thrive, as it's obvious we're sticking with him for a bit longer.
    • Only thing I really agreed with is questioning why we didn’t take any timeouts on their last drive.  I know hindsight is 20/20, but I think it would’ve saved clock bc they were desperate to score as soon as the opportunity presented itself, but I also think it could’ve helped the defense regroup and maybe give us a better chance to stop them.
