Cam IS on the hot seat!

In fact, on the hottest seat of anybody in the entire NFC South according to David retard Newton....

“I was torn here between Koetter and Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. This is a big year for Newton with a new offensive coordinator and system. If he doesn't show improvement after consecutive down years, there will be a lot of questions about his future.”

How does this moron have a job? Cam has been the entire frigging offense here his whole career and we have 3 years of him for peanuts and he’s on the hottest seat in the division!? What a joke of a reporter.

As much as I don't like David Newton, he semi has a point. You are confusing being the while offense with his point of being a quarterback. For years he hasn't had weapons or a competent OC, so what Mr David Newton is saying pretty much is..we went out and got one of the best OC in the history of the game and have surrounded Cam with a ton of talent... If he can't succeed with what we have now, what are the excuses?

Just because as a fan base people love Cam, doesn't mean you can ignore the fact that our quarterback has accuracy issues, which he's had since college, but by 8 years in the league, he should have fixed that by now. Hopefully all theyeats of excuses were correct and this year he sky rockets.fingers crossed

Reading the article, David's choice for the hottest seat was Koetter which was everyone's choice except for one who chose Winston. David mentions considering Cam but no one chose him as being on the hottest seat.

He chose Cam and then backed out of it by changing the question to which coach is on the hot seat because “a player can’t be on the hot seat.” Don’t give him a pass here.

Cam has been one of the most successful QBs in NFL history to this point in his career despite the pathetic weapons and poor coaching around him.  If Turner is still as good as everyone here seems to think, I think Cam will be just fine.

Cam has already been successful with lesser talent. It isn’t an excuse for being unsuccessful, so what he said makes no sense. Cam was league MVP with nothing around him. We hope Norv helps him get back there with more weapons.

The coaching staff will be on the hot seat if they can’t provide help for Cam.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
