Yeah that’s a little fast, but who cares really. Probably went and bought himself a fast car. Why buy a fast car if you’re not gonna speed?

Yep, not gonna lie I've maxed out several vehicles on public roads. The current car is electronically speed limited at 145. Found that out on I-70 through western Kansas on the way back from buying it in Burlington, NC. A Toyota Prius can hit triple digits. 101 on a slight downhill in Montana. A Nissan Frontier Pro-4x can hit 112 in west Texas in a slight headwind.

Damn a Prius can hit 100. You learn something knew every day. 100ish is usually where I’ll draw the line, but I get why people drive faster. And anyone whose gone that fast knows you pay extra attention to the road and surroundings. Much more so then the person going 65 and texting

Texting @ 65 mph is dangerous, but taking a picture of your speedometer @ 100+ is cool...

It was the middle of nowhere Montana. Probably got another vehicle within 5 miles. Lots of east coasters have no concept of just how desolate much of the American west truly is. Literally no one was endangered but myself in any of my high speed romps.

60 days in jail for going 15 miles over speed limit in work zone. DJ was clocked going 50 over.

He was on I-77 where the work zone speed limit is 65 so this doesn't exactly apply but it's probably close. It is a terrible road to be going so fast on just because the road surface is bad so I'm glad he's okay. I got caught doing 60 in a 45. First ticket in about 15 years. Found a lawyer, paid him $200, without me going to court it was reduced to "illegal equipment" with no license points plus I paid a fine and court costs. Especially if it's his first time, he'll get a lawyer and he should pretty much get off paying fines and court costs. Then he better start slowing down because the courts are much, much harder on repeat offenders.

I guess you guys have updated the roads since 97 than I lived in NC as I cannot recall ever seeing a limit over 70.

Point is if a work limit is only down to 65, it cannot be that much work going on and hence not that dangerous (during non work hours)? Stupid yes but not that big of a deal.

Note that me being European might make new bais (topped out on 122 last time I drove in Germany, fully legal :)) towards not carrying that much about speeding.

There was a worker killed and 2 seriously injured when a car speeding in a work zone on I 40 in Morganton hit them..  It was at night.  A lot of road construction is being done throughout the night.  It is stupid and reckless to be going that fast anyway. It is well known in this area that the work zone speed  limit is strictly enforced.  Hope Moore learns his lesson.  I am sure RR and a couple of team captains have had a chat with him.
