Seems to me that Heinicke had the inside track all along given Norv knew him from their days with the Vikings. He knew Norv's system and was ready from day 1. I don't think we really looked at anyone else. Norv got who he wanted as our backup.

Anyone paying attention to the pre-drsft process should've known he was going to be a bust. I get that most elite QB prospects have some degree of cockiness about them, but that dude was as smug as any I'd ever seen. Everything about his attitude reeked of entitlement. The guy thought that being a starting NFL QB was going to be easy and that he couldn't possibly fail.

I don't think so. He hardly played. You may be thinking about Osweiler. He didn't play much at all his first three years but then stepped in and played well in Manning's place in his 4th season and then the Texans paid him big time money in free agency.
