The Carolina Panthers Won Today!

The Saints lost. The Falcons lost. The Giants, Cowboys, and Steelers lost.

The Panthers won. Be happy, celebrate. Injuries happen every year. Opportunities are missed every game. Winning is hard, we did it, we won!

I was kind of surprised how much fans complained last season week after week, win after win. Where does this negativity come from? There was a time when being in big games was exciting, winning was thrilling. We get Fox's lead week 1 game and fans act like we lost to the Bills at home.

Our defensive line looked great. We saw flashes from Ian Thomas and DJ Moore. CJ Anderson looked like a great piece to this puzzle. Motons first start was kind of impressive given the circumstances.... Luke Kuechly looked like a hall of famer. Cam can still dominate with physical runs. Considering the weather, the injuries, and the inexperience; the game played out exactly how I expected it to. With a win.

If I wanted to read meltdowns I'd go to the Saints report.

This is a complete mind phuck. I watched the game at a Panthers bar in Denver and was really looking forward to coming home and checking out the huddle, but the moment I logged in, the phucking place is infested with negativity and bad vibes all around, almost as if we were blown out 45 to 0. People poo on Rivera, on Funchess, Cam lead in rushing, CMC shouldn't receive that much, CJ - not enough carries... WTF ???

Yeah it wasn't pretty, but we did what we had to do and we walked away with a win.

It's almost as if everyone is new to the game of football and automatically assumes that what they saw today is exactly how every game will happen.

Chill Panther Nation, it's gonna be alright, we will play better. Fuggg

Steelers tied didn't lose.

We know we can make it to the playoffs that's the minimum. Like we called with Shula(and JR for that matter) we're showing/telling you how Rivera is going to cost this team and that specifically is nothing to be happy about. Mentality is we're already in the playoffs or its a non starter at all anyway. SB or bust yall still acting like "we just happy to have a franchise thank you NFL lets keep the NFL shield at mid field".

Just some happy to be here mufukers while others talking bout bigger things.

This is a fine post.  There were many positives to take from the game: Luke, KK, DJack, Shaq, Moton, GVR, Byrd, several more.  The only scary negative I saw (other than injuries) was the weak, risk-avoidance play of Munnerlyn, who's able to find the open part of a zone to park himself in and find separation, better than any WR in the league. And when he had a chance to tackle Zeke at 14:08 of the 4Q, on his 16 yd run, he made the executive decision to trot alongside the play, as if he were a sidling crab.  That man may cost us in the future, until they find an unafraid slot defender.

You’re not wrong OP, but the cardiac cats bring out the worst in the anxiety-ridden fans.  It’s hard to think of many wins we have enjoyed without extreme levels of stress until the final seconds.  No one can deny this team seems to build a lead and then get complacent.  That’s Ron Rivera and it’s maddening.

After the game I relished the victory but needed about 30 minutes to calm my fugin nerves.

People expect to much.  We have a new offensive coordinator, a lot of new players on offense, and we were playing against a decent defense.  And yet fans expect us to win 30-8.  If you look at the scores from today, most games were in the 5-10 point win range.  Its the NFL, not Alabama playing Southwest Dakota State.  We won, we enjoy it and move on.

    • And, yes, I've been a slow boil, but watching continually watching shitty displays of football for weeks has me frustrated.
    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
    • But nobody is saying he is a good deep ball passer.  But the facts are since he's returned from his benching, he has been throwing downfield.  Whether you want to credit the scheme, Bryce himself, or whatever, he has been pushing it deep.  Not to any positive results mind you, but it has been happening.
