Cam said he made the decision to take the points due to the pass rush.

We did.  Keep in mind no timeouts.

It looked like Cam went to the line with a play already called but would not have had the time to audible to something different, run it, and still kick the field goal after the attempted play if it failed.  Cam definitely looked the defense over before he spiked it.

The way they hurried to the line, i thought they'd spike it quicker, but 7-8 seconds ticked off the clock before they did.  Everyone around me was pissed.

If we had one more timeout, it would have been different. They had our play well covered and there was no alternate call that could have been audibled in the time available. Cam made the right decision to get the three points.

But 7 seconds seems enough to at least try one quick slant, shot for the endzone and then easy try for FG if not on 4th down.

 

We had 5ish (?) yards to go...really wanted to see a killer instinct there from the staff.

They looked confused at the line before the spike. Smith and I think Wright were basically lined up on top of one another. It didn't look good.

    But what happens if you don't score, or get out of bounds? Zero points. If Cam wasn't happy with how things looked, and it sure looked that way on tv. He absolutely made the right decision.

Oh so after cam spiked it, it was 4th down, the board wasn’t updated it read 3rd down when the field goal was kicked.

still want to see this team be able to get a TD in that situation. It could have very easily been the game.

The timeouts were the issue. One thing that doesn't seem to have changed is the Panthers needing to burn first half timeouts because they didn't get the offense lined up in time.

It was the right call at the time. If Cam gets sacked in that situation, the half ends with no points. The bigger issue was the timeout that had to be burned earlier in that drive due to the play clock winding down.

Throw it up to someone tall, if it's not there, chuck it, still 3 secs on the clock. Who cares now, good to know it was Cam's call and not Rivera's.
