Football Outsiders - Panthers Outplayed Eagles All Four Quarters + Norv Turner Is Amazing

Besides the people who don't understand football on this board we did win all 4 quarters. The difference was that some questionable penalties took points off the board. It should have been 9-10 going into the half.

No one is disputing this.  Everyone is disputing the fact that any metric could suggest that the Panthers won all 4 qtrs of the game.  This is the title of the thread.

Anyone who actually thinks we outplayed them through the first 3 quarters...I truly question your most basic, fundamental knowledge of the game of football. We legitimately looked like one of the worst teams in football in all three phases of the game.

So the first 3 quarters we look totally inept but are actually playing better than Eagles. All this to set the  eagles up to make an epic comeback in the 4th quarter.

There's no argument for the Past there outplaying the Eagles for the first three quarters. The only surprising thing about those first three quarters is that the Eagles "only" led 17-0.

Actually, we took everything the World Champions could throw at us for four quarters and kept them to 17 points. Our offense played our style of game through out, but just could not seem to get traction into scoring position. Then the 4th quarter came, the Eagles danced, we woke up and we pulled a Rocky Balboa in the final frame, in Philadelphia, and beat the champs into submission.

This weekend, we're going to treat the Ravens like the Browns they used to be. And then later, treat the Browns they still are.
