So...looking ahead...Matt Kalil is eligible to come back next week

On one hand, today the offensive line did not allow a single sack from the Ravens. Part of that is simply guys like Moton and Van Roten balling out while part of it is Cam Newton being arguably one of the best pocket managers in the NFL.

Now, we have Clark at LT. In my honest opinion, he's a downgrade from Matt Kalil. He's allowed some bad pressure and sacks in the past and largely is more consistently beat than Matt Kalil's frequency. With that being said, I would not be surprised to see the coaching staff put Matt Kalil back in based on such.

Conversely, you have the argument that o-line chemistry is doing quite fine at the moment. Inserting Matt Kalil to work with Van Roten may create a situation where some glitches may occur due to not being as used to each other.

Either way, it is something to think about.

Do you think Matt Kalil will be back this upcoming game? If so, what are your thoughts on whether he's an upgrade or not?

Mind you, this is basically comparing rotten apples. Rather, which one is the worse bad tackle in a sense.

Clark definitely gives up pressure but not like Kalil. It's just different because he doesn't get obliterated like Kalil.

Counter: I think he's gotten obliterated at a higher frequency than M. Kalil. It's just that Cam Newton's finally healthy and knows how to manage a pocket like the best in the league.

Either way, it's basically arguing who's the biggest midget at this point. They're both bad and basically depth level players on other teams at best. Clark's been serviceable and definitely not on Byron Bell levels bad, but he's also not the answer either.

Maybe so and honestly depth at T late in the year isn't bad. Clearly next year though we need to resign Williams and move Moton to LT. That's a T combo to be proud of.

This is something I have noticed lately.  He is stepping up, which says a lot for our middle three.

    • My comments go back to what I would have done in 2023. That is really when everything veered off of what I thought was good and well. I wanted to keep Wilks, re-sign Darnold and Foreman, and trade down in the draft to take Torrance, Kincaid, Charbonnet, or Mims obviously depending on where they fell. Knowing what was coming the next draft class, that was the prudent thing to do.    I’d still take Warren over Tet, or even Matthew Golden over Tet. Bryce needs guys who get open because right now, no one on this roster creates separation forcing Bryce to be a pinpoint passer which is insane because he’s 5’9. Give me receiving options that create space.    they called him a Mini-Mahomes yet have done nothing similar to what the Chiefs have done to capitalize on those “traits”. It’s absurd. Give me a tight end who can back yard ball, a slasher at running back, a power back, and two 4.3 receivers with exceptional route running.    That’s how you build around what Bryce has done well.
    • We should have traded down, taken Torrance, taken Charbonnet and Mims. Then gone defense. Re-signed Foreman and Darnold. If we sucked again, then you get a shot at Daniels, Maye, Williams, or Nix. You get to keep DJ Moore and stack a core of talent.
    • What is it that Cam is supposed to do differently? He is a running back. Dart will learn to slide, and eventually he won’t be playing with PS elevation receivers so he won’t have to run nearly as much.
