What are the Chances? Norv Turner

Offensively I think this team is very exciting and only improving.

Norv has done wonders with Cam and I would hate to see him go.

What are the chances that if we were to change our head coach that Norv stays on as OC?  Or do you think if Rivera gets can, Turner leaves regardless of whether he is offered the position?

We've wasted some much of Cam's career with Shula.  We finally have an OC that can put up some points and if we can Rivera, we have to start all over.

I think Norv was happily retired until his buddy Ron had him come back. While I love what Norv has done if losing him is the price we pay for firing Rivera I will happily take that

Highly unlikely we'd keep him.  It would very likely begin a serious downturn in Cam's career too.  Typically QBs that have new coordinators every other year are the ones that end up fizzling out.  It's dangerous for teams to become addicted to coaching changes.  It sure does feel like Rivera is starting to get stale though.  It's a tough call.

I'm afraid if Ron goes, so will Cam, KK, Turner, Thompson, even Kuechly. Ron's been their big daddy since day 1 of rookie training camp.

I'm sick of Ron's conservative decisions & he must change. My only fear is if he goes, his loyal players will be pissed & ditch the Panthers.

Huh? This ain't Varsity Blues.  The players won't be going anywhere.

Norv took the position because Ron specifically asked for his help. I would expect if Ron goes, Norv goes.

The wild card is Scott Turner. It's likely he could become a good OC and may decide to stay with the Panthers through a regime change. It's a conversation worth having with the new GM and coach, when that happens.

Regarding the players - players are loyal, but they ALL understand this is a business. They are more likely to take into account money and where their families are established more than they will the result of a coach firing.

While I agree that Cam wouldn't leave if Ron got canned and Norv left, Cam could be less effective if the next OC tries to implement a more traditional offense or a different scheme like a West coast offense. Norv has done a good job matching this offense to what Cam does well. There is nothing to say he wouldn't fall back to mediocrity if we changed the coaching staff significantly.
