Unpopular opinion : We are overusing Mccaffrey and it’s not good for the offense

Norv is gonna kill the kid, at this rate i’m almost willing to bet he’s not gonna make it through the season. He took some huge hits yesterday, and why are they pounding him up the middle right after a 60 yard run??? We were very fortunate we recovered his 3 fumbles. The redzone runs by Mccaffrey are useless

Olsen and Samuel barely even saw that ball. All these weapons and all they do is force feed Mccaffrey.

Armah has had, to my knowledge, exactly one red zone opportunity and he banged it in the end zone. Not sure why is organization is so hesitant to use their young weapons but it’s frustrating to say the least.

I think he has 2 TD this season

Someone remind me why this team signed CJ Anderson, again?

"The Panthers have now found the second part of their one-two punch at running back. Carolina has signed former Broncos starting running back C.J. Anderson to a one-year deal, the organization announced Monday afternoon. That means the powerful rusher will join the 2017 draft's No. 8 overall pick, Christian McCaffrey, as a nice top two in the backfield to go alongside star quarterback Cam Newton." (247 Sports)

"Anderson’s power-back style should be a natural fit in his new digs, filling the void opened up by the departure of Stewart. Plus, by all accounts, he’s carried himself with the exact mentality – an approach described as “professional” by general manager Marty Hurney – coach Ron Rivera values in his players. If you think this match between Anderson and Carolina feels like an ideal one, that’s because it pretty much is." (USA Today)

When your best option at the backup RB position is Cameron Artis-Payne, you've answered your own question why CMC is on the field all day.

Half of those passes were dump offs by Cam. It's not all on the coaches unless you're proposing we take CMC off the field.

If you notice a lot Mccaffrey catches are designed passes for him, you can see the receivers blocking instead of running routes.

We're over using him for sure. We do need him out on the field a lot because of the attention he draws. Overall, I don't think offense is the issue.  I understand why they used him a ton yesterday....the coaches were desperate and we needed that win.  Granted, the coaches awful decision making is what's holding this team back...and our kicker who's kicking like he's going through a nasty divorce.

My pet peeves with this team have to do with time management and being awful defensively on 3rd down.  Little things.  Delay of game penalties every game.  The one on the goal line in the 4th quarter was a costly time out.  Playing for the field goal when we were moving the ball at will under two minutes. All coaching things really.

I know that defensively we have some talent. Have we considered Luke's level of play has dropped because he probably has a DC who's inept and working against him. Kuechly has had 3 coordinators in 3 years.  We played fine on 1st and 2nd downs....but man what a string of collapses on 3rd down.  That's the biggest evidence that I have that Eric Washington is probably a Saints implant.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
