Rice was getting close to the end of his career. That's part of the reason he never got another chance. I think Hunt is young enough he'll get another shot, eventually.

Yep, it looks like they knew about the incident. But after they saw the video, they knew he had lied to their management team.

that was one of the problems with the hardy situation. hardy downplayed the situation (which I don't blame him because they were already getting tired of his off field stuff) but when the poo hit the fan it made them look bad. it didn't help that he was a weird dude to begin with. 

not sure what all is going on with the hunt thing behind scenes, but he should have known that it was more than likely that a video of the whole thing would show up being in a public place. I know one of his buddies snagged a phone from one of the girls there and deleted what she was recording, but when police got involved he should have gotten in front of it with his team.
