Not sure why Ron thinks that firing a couple nameless assistants will get him in any favor with Tepper...

these moves mean absolutely nothing

I don't necessarily think Ron is the sharpest knife in the drawer.

He certainly knows defense, but if you question whether it's possible to have a lot of football knowledge yet still be unwise in other things, lemme introduce you to a fella named Rob Gronkowski.

Coaching Defensive Line is one of the most underrated things about defense.  It seems like it would be the easiest, but it really requires the most consistency and attention to detail.  I feel like there is a huge gap between great D-line coaches and bad ones, maybe more than any other position group besides O-line.

Essentially going from a A D-line coach to as F or D D-line coach was probably the biggest downgrade for the team.

Hoke? I do honestly feel that our defensive line problems are probably more personnel than coaching, but with that said I don't really know if Hoke was that good a coach.

I do know Ron Rivera has become an expert at throwing people under the bus.

Heath Farwell might wanna watch his back.

I don't agree with you on everything but you've been spot on about Rodgers from day one IMHO. He is only here because he's one of Ron's BFFs.

Ron is just putting his assault rifle on full-auto, pressing the trigger, and spraying and praying at this point because he has NO FUGGIN' IDEA what to do, primarily because he has NO FUGGIN' IDEA what the problem even is.

Ergo, just put lead in the air and hope you hit somethin'.

Ron's peeling away the outer layers, pretty soon what's truly rotten will be on full display, which apparently only the most blind and naive can't already see.

How the hell will these weak ass changes show up on the field?  So what if we win 2 more and finish 8-8?  That's failure and Ron will go.

I think the wrong secondary coach got fired . . . but that's just me . . .

All I'm saying is we've been starting a rookie corner all year and he's looked *incredibly* well prepared.

DBs not improving os a trend for us though. Remember that Bradberry looked really good as a rookie too. I don't get the Bradberry hatred by a lot of our fans but I also don't think he's any better than he was as a rookie. Worley never improved. Sanchez never improved. Captain regressed.

In short, I haven't seen any signs that we've "coached up" any DBs.

Certainly not since Wilkes was a position coach there.  Norman was certainly one who was coached up.  Coleman got coached up pretty good until he got too old.  Heck, in 2015 our CB's were:  Norman, Tillman, Benwickere, Teddy Williams and Robert McClain.  Norman was the only one who was really great.  Tillman was good, but old at that point.  The rest were JAG's but did their job when Tillman went down.

However, when we promoted Wilkes to DC after 2016 (Bradberry's rookie year), our development of DB's really fell off.  Now, this year Jackson has looked good, and Bradberry hasn't been a disaster.  Both would probably look a lot better if we could rush the passer with any sort of consistency.

You really gotta wonder how much you pin on the DB's, and how much comes down to our complete inability to pressure the QB.
