Did players give up on the long run by Landry?

Both Kyle Bailey and Jourdan Rodrigue have stated that while Luke Kuechly was giving it everything he had to run down Jarvis Landry and prevent him from scoring, a lot of other defensive players were just sort of half-heartedly trotting behind him.

What do you remember seeing on that play?

That's 10000% coaching. I wouldn't even blame the players. Any coach has the power to instill the fear of God on his players to be caught on film half assing it. Yes, you may have no realistic chance on catching the guy, but what if a teammate does catch him and causes a fumble?!? We need as many people to the ball immediately and that means everyone fully sprinting. If it is a TD then you'll have time to catch your breath anyway so go all out. This is a coaching issue. You must expect what you accept.

The players gave up during the Steelers game and never decided to give 100% again because Rivera chalked the blowout up to “poo happens”, inexplicably gave the team the weekend off, burned the tape of the game so nothing could be learned from it, and the team never won another game under his watch.

Y’all really complaining about guys jogging  from a 6-7 team???? Thats how a 6-7 team supposed to look like.

Multiple 6-6 teams this week looked like they could hang with anybody.

Seems like the safeties don't do a good job of funneling the runner towards the rest of the pursuers. Saw this with the Landry run and a couple of others in the last few weeks. Tackles that should have been made 10-15 yards downfield turn into long gains because of poor pursuit routes and lack of awareness.

That’s only true if you have no self respect at all.  Coaches should be leaders and instill the want to give 100%, play disciplined, bla bla bla,.. but at the end of the day there is no excuse or anyone else that can make you give everything you have.

Each of those players would be cut at the end of the year.

Ron said they ‘were slow in spots on the roster’ remember lol

lollygaggers is my term for them.  Slow they may be, giving up they might have done, but they are still getting paid
